LG Electronics is shifting its focus towards robotic actuators and business-oriented appliances as key areas for future development. The company is gearing up for potentially large-scale orders from major global tech firms and has developed a new line of actuators that are lighter, more efficient, and competitively priced. These actuators, branded under LG Axium, are slated for mass production as the company is in active discussions with several technology giants, anticipating a significant initial order soon.

Earlier this year, LG introduced the LG Axium actuator brand, leveraging its extensive experience in motors, drive controls, and component design honed through its home appliance sector. A fully automated production line for these actuators is set to be established at LG’s Changwon facility by the end of the year. The demand for actuators is projected to rise in conjunction with advancements in physical AI and humanoid robotics, with significant growth expected by 2030. LG also has plans to implement humanoid robots at its Tennessee manufacturing plant and the Changwon smart factory, with an eye on future household applications as safety technologies advance.

In addition to its focus on robotics, LG is expanding its business-to-business appliance offerings. Over the past three years, both its built-in appliance and commercial laundry sectors have seen annual revenue growth exceeding 40%. In Europe, the company is boosting its sales efforts by expanding premium built-in brands and aims to have products displayed in 3,000 outlets by year’s end.

LG is also enhancing its commercial laundry business by introducing machines with larger capacities and strengthening partnerships across Southeast Asia. In Europe, the company is actively promoting high-efficiency appliances in line with its ambition to become a leading home appliance manufacturer in the region by the year 2030.
