LG Electronics has achieved a record-breaking performance in the second quarter, fueled by heightened demand for its home appliances, vehicle components, and HVAC systems. The South Korean tech giant announced a preliminary operating profit of 1.58 trillion won, equivalent to $1.04 billion, marking a remarkable 146.9% surge from the previous year. Revenue also saw a significant rise, climbing 14.9% to reach 23.83 trillion won, which exceeded market predictions.

Throughout the first half of the year, LG reported revenues totaling 47.56 trillion won and an operating profit of 3.25 trillion won, both of which set new benchmarks for the company. These impressive results were attributed to increased sales in key sectors, enhanced cost management, a growing range of subscription services, the expansion of its webOS platform, and a boost in online sales activities.

The core segments driving this growth included home appliances, vehicle solutions, and HVAC systems. There was a noticeable rise in the demand for premium home appliances, automotive infotainment systems, and cooling solutions, particularly in European markets experiencing recent heatwaves. This surge in demand significantly contributed to LG’s robust financial performance.

Moreover, LG underscored its ongoing commitment to investing in future growth areas. The company is focusing on innovations such as AI data center cooling technologies and advanced robotics components, signaling its strategic direction toward emerging technologies that promise sustained growth.
